Beehive Meals Review: The Easiest Way to Eat Right Before (AND After) Having a Baby?

I’m a mom of two toddlers who are in constant need of me. I’m currently 8 months pregnant and honestly this feels like such a lifesaver of a find. The Beehive meals are primarily made for throwing in the crockpot and serving over something easy like rice, pasta, or making into sandwiches or tacos.

Plus, just picture this: 10 meals served monthly with no extra prep, you didn’t have to think of them or find the ingredients and you don’t have to remember to grab them when they are just in the freezer and can be made within 3-4 hours FROM FROZEN.

My brain doesn’t work well during pregnancy and going into postpartum these are freezer meals that I don’t have to prep myself. A real LIFESAVER if you ask me.

The WHY? The Reality of Eating During Pregnancy, Postpartum and Breastfeeding:

Honestly, feeding myself and my husband often feels harder than feeding my kids. Toddlers are simple (mine would happily live on yogurt and fruit and call it a day)

But postpartum or 3rd trimester? It’s a different story.

Those first couple of weeks are a whirlwind for everyone. You’re recovering, feeding a newborn around the clock, keeping toddlers busy, and adjusting to a completely new rhythm. Even with the best intentions, and yes, even with a helpful husband who is willing to pick up the slack, meals can quickly become an afterthought.

I knew I needed something that was easy but still nutritious. Not just another heavily processed freezer meal or defaulting to takeout, but something I could feel good about feeding my family. That’s exactly where Beehive Meals has come in.

Having 10 freezer meals ready to go? Crockpot friendly, no prep required. This means 10 meals I didn’t have to plan, shop for, or think about. It takes the pressure off in a season where even small decisions can feel overwhelming and hard to hash out.

So what exactly is Beehive meals?

WOMEN-OWNED AND OPERATED

Beehive Meals is a meal prep service that simplifies dinnertime with ready-to-cook freezer meals. The company was built to “take the busy work out of family dinner” by removing the planning, shopping, and prep so families can spend more time around the table together.

All meals are delivered in an insulated cooler bag and padded shipping box to ensure they stay frozen during transit and they deliver to all 50 states!

Simply put, meals are designed to be cooked in a slow cooker and primarily include the protein and sauce/seasonings. This allows you to customize their meals by serving them in different ways, such as tacos, nachos, salads, or over pasta or rice.

Plus, you can choose meal/serving size depending on who/how many you are cooking for.

How I’m Using Beehive Meals in Real Life:

Obviously for pregnancy and postpartum.

The first and last trimester of pregnancy especially when you are at capacity and might just need a little bit of help getting dinners ready. The best part is you can grab 10 meals monthly and use them whenever you are feeling too run down to cook a full meal.

For postpartum I’m especially excited because that 10 ready to go freezer meals that I don’t actually have to prepare myself. That’s such a huge win because I’m already struggling to get everything done.

What if you aren’t about to have a baby?

That’s the beauty of this service. You can get these meals just simply as an easy ready made option you can keep in your back pocket AND you can gift smaller boxes to people who may need it.

Are you a busy schedule mom, working, kids in sports? Perfect. Kids in college and you want to make sure they can eat? Send them a monthly box.

Someone you know is graduating, in college, big life event, just a helping hand? You can send them a meal box to make their life easier.

What Makes It Actually Helpful (Especially Postpartum)

What made the biggest difference for me wasn’t just having meals in the freezer, it was how little effort or thought they actually require.

There is no prep, no planning, and no decision making. I don’t have to think about what to make, check if I have ingredients, or figure out timing. In a season where even small decisions can feel overwhelming, that alone was huge win.

Other than dinner I truly struggle to eat consistently, which is something you can’t do while trying to maintain a milk supply. Postpartum (especially while breastfeeding), you need real meals, not just quick snacks here and there. Having something ready to go meant I wasn’t skipping meals or waiting until I was completely drained to eat and then I had more time and energy to plan out all the other stuff.

Dinner (the witching hour) is usually the hardest part of the day for us. Everyone’s tired, kids are melting down or getting crazy and it’s the last thing you want to figure out how to coordinate.

So what are the cons?

This isn’t going to make sense for everyone, people in a less busy season of life who enjoy making lots of different meals and have time to put things together are definitely different than busy parents who are just trying to get by, or college kids who cant cook.

I think price is an obvious con, but when you break it down, you are likely spending more on all the things you need for meals throughout the week and if you are like us, a lot of them are going bad before you are even able to get to them. With the freezer meals, its all frozen, so no need to worry that they will go bad quickly.

It also might not be ideal if you have very specific dietary needs or prefer fully customizable meals. Since these are pre-made, there’s less flexibility compared to cooking at home. The menu each month changes but it is not customizable, so you get what they have available.

And if freezer space is already tight, that’s something to consider too. Having multiple meals on hand does take up room, we might not be able to do it if we didn’t have a big freezer in the garage.

My Honest Take: Would I Recommend It?

Yes. Absolutely. Beehive feels like a lifesaver and they also have options for gluten-free, added protein, and even just launched flat top meals! Click the link and sign up for $$ off your order!

The meals we have had are so good and again, we are in a season of needing easier but still healthy options. This just makes sense for us.

This isn’t a “how can I save money” type of fix. Its a “how can I save time and energy in a hard or busy season” These are real meals, not fast food convenience.
